Assignment 16

-A significant achievement that I know has impacted me greatly was when I got into fight in Tijuana a day before my boxing match... I remember always being scared to fight as a kid and always being scared of getting hit or getting hurt and I hardly ever fought for what I wanted. As a guy I was seen as weak and insipid. So i joined boxing to highten my confidence in physical confrontation and as a result, I became extremely cocky and i began to think as if i can take on anyone no matter what the circumstance was. Everything in boxing was going great, I kept winning fights and obtained a good reputation as a fighter, but like the quote goes, "All good things have to come to an end". So me and my friends, Diego and Fabian, led ourselfs into a fight in Tijuana, Mexico where we were 3 against 10 adults. As i took on 3 guys by myself, I wasn't fast enough to block or deflect all the punches, so little by little my head was getting constantly hit. Then, all my system went down when I was hit by a rock in the back of the head. Seconds later i found myself on the floor being stomped on and soon, I felt my hand experience a harsh pain. Before I knew it, the police had arrested me and I was soon inside a police car waiting for my parents to arrive. Everything after that went worse. My head experienced harsh headaches and bruising. My hand couldn't lift anything up and for sure, I couldn't punch either. I Soon headed towards the hospital where they told me that I had several concusions on my head and a torn ligament in my wrist. Due to my affected wrist, I couldn't attend boxing for 3 months and ever since then, I regret fighting that day.

Assignment 17

An important issue that highly concerns and affects me is the immigrational issues placed upon "illegal aliens". It's funny how in the United States of America, white "americans" are look upon as the superior race and therefore they "hold" the right to vilify and critisize immigrants such as mexicans. When in reality, the white race are the real illegal aliens who came to this land without invitation and named it as their own. I personally believe that immigrants can obtain a temporal visa no matter what their economical status is, as long as they make a beneficial contribution to the American economy, cause that's what immigrants do, right? Immigrants take all the laborious jobs like farming and cropping, cleaning, and other jobs that no one wants to have. Immigrants play an enormous role in our agricultural status by working the fields and keeping our vegetation well nutritioned. If anything, the "superior" race should be grateful since immigrants obtain jobs with low wages and still make a significant change in our economical and agricultural status.

Assignment 18

What I would change about our school campus is the fact that if you're tardy, you are obligated to attend a saturday school detention knowing that our school has insufficient funds to support this kind of movement. What I would consider is that, if students are truant or late to their classes on a regular basis, that the school board should deteriorate student's citizenship grade. If they have reached an "F" or a low grade, then let that be the students problem because having a low citizenship grade can affect the student in many negative ways. Such as neglecting them the participation in extra-curricular sports. As well as lowering their grade point average and inflicting a negative view in the students grade report. Another controversy that can arouse from this is the fact that the student is very irresponsible and immature due to the fact that the student doesn't arrive to school or classes on time, therefore he is seen as a imminent threat to the school and seen as a "bad" student. To my opinion, I implicate that the school board deflects the fact that tardies affect our citizenship grade because truancies give students a negative name as they are seen as malicient students. Another thing I would change about our school is the fact that if a student doesn't qualify for free lunch, he must pay in full for lunch and AP and IB Exams. If anything, kids who don't qualify for free lunch are students whose parents make too much money and in the U.S. the more money you make, the more money they strip from your pay check for taxes. So if anything, kids whose parents obtain a high income make a larger contribution to schools because they pay more for taxes and therefore they shouldn't be forced to pay more for lunch or exams.

Assignment 19

A controversial topic has always been questioned over the course of education is that of mandatory attendance. Should students be forced to assist school on a regular basis or do they hold the freedom to go whenever they feel like it? While many other young adults may argue that school attendance shouldn't be mandatory, I personally believe that school assistance should be mandatory dude to the fact that it can evoke characteristics as time goes by, such as responsibility and effort. School attendance doesn't always have to be mandatory or doesn't always have to be enforced to punish kids who regularly are truant to school. School attendance would improve enormously if there was some sort of reward given out to benefit the students. Such rewards can include prizes and raffles to kids who have maintained above a 90% attendance rate or special privileges that would grant them the ability to wear hats to school or personalized parking space. Education is an important factor that plays a critical role in our society because with education comes knowledge and with knowledge comes power.

Assignment 20

If I was able to communicate with any species of animal, I would choose to communicate with a animal that has the ability to fly. An animal with aviation advantages can grant you many privileges that will benefit your everyday living. An advantage that can be beneficial would be, that the animal would be over looking your actions and can watch your back. It can also inform you to where you're headed and what's the fastest route to your destination. As well as informing if there is traffic or an accident. If I were to choose a specific specie of animal, I would choose to communicate with Saphira from Eragon, because she has the ability to over hear many conversations even if they are miles away and also has the ability to fly with someone on her back, which would be beneficial if you prefer to use Saphira as your method of transportation rather than the common automobile. Saphira also senses other's emotions and can read thoughts, which is kind of awkward unless you're trying figure out something and plus, I'll look pretty bad-ass if i was riding a dragon. Another great attribute that Saphira has is the ability to fly tremendously fast and the ability to be agile and fierce in a fight. So if I were to be asked, "If you can communicate with any species of animal, what animal would it be?", I would proudly respond, "Saphira".
